Healthy Life Health and Wellness Coaching
I've had so much fun this month!!
And that's a good thing because the theme for June that I chose way back in January is “Fun and Play!” What have I been up to? A good ol’ fashioned Family Beach Week, complete with cousins, cold cuts, and card games!!!
Eleven of us - aged 5 - 82 and scattered over three generations who gather yearly, intimate strangers who love each other and don’t know each other day-to-day. What brought us together? Fun and play powered by my five-year-old and nine-year-old cousins’ unstoppable energy. How could we not play chess, build sand castles, and ride the waves!! And as always, family is a petri dish for life lessons, self discovery, and excitement for the future. If you are reading this and can’t remember the last time you actually had fun and played… stay tuned to my socials! I’ll keep sharing the fun and why play it is SUCH a vital and overlooked part of overall health.
Beach week handed me more than a tan — here are five things I'm carrying home with me into the rest of June.
Five Lessons from JUNE
1~ Be unapologetically generous with your solitary time to ensure you can be present and playful during all-together time! Get your sleep! Go exercise!! Write in your journal!!!
2~ Sun protection no matter what your skin tone or age!
3~ A duplex works great for peaceful extended family vacays.
4~ Your cousin’s kids are technically your cousins, once removed and your kids are their kids second cousins. Or you can just call ‘em all cousins😂
5~ YOU can make a difference to people, even when you only see them once a year, even when they are 80 years older than you or 50 years younger than you. YOU. Yes, wonderfully unique YOU!!
Wishing you a June full of small moments that feel like play — embrace them!
