January 2, 2023
Hi Amy,
Welcome to January - my favorite month! This January is especially special… It’s FILLED with new-ness! It’s a new year of course and on January 2nd I stepped into a new half century on the planet (Happy 50th to me!). Truth be told, not much can top my birthday - I really love celebrating it.
HOWEVER… There's Even BIGGER news to be shared: Healthy Living Coaching has added a new service - therapy sessions with Fran. To top off all the new-ness-ish, we’re proud to announce our new name reflecting our new service. Welcome to Healthy Life Coaching and Therapy Services. We are excited to provide both health coaching and therapy in one practice. Therapy and coaching are similar but different and both modalities are used in support of our mission, “We help people find their power, create optimal health, and love their life”. Welcome to the new-ness-esque of 2023. Here’s to abundance, gratitude, and serenity in this new year!
Standing for your very best health,
Amy

Capitalizing on Special Days Grabbing a “NEW” Start and Utilizing it
Did I mention I love my birthday? 😉
An early January birthday comes with a lot of downsides:
- “Combo” Christmas-Birthday presents,
- No one really wants to attend another party after NYE, and
- A lot of belated Happy Birthdays.
So how can I LOVE my birthday? Because the world starts again on January 2nd. No more overpacked holiday schedules, no more kids out of school, no more decadent food and drink at holiday gatherings. Mostly, there are NO MORE EXCUSES. No more reasons to put off what I really want - healthy living, confidence, serenity.
That sense of urgency found on January 2nd is the gift of my birthday. Finally finished with Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years’ Day, my birthday proclaims:
- “Enough!!”
- “It’s time”
- “Get moving”
- “There’s nothing in the way now”
- “GO!!!!”
What better time to wake up and feel your best life pulling you forward, NOW. No more tolerating mediocrity, no more biding your time. January 2nd is labeled urgent: YOUR LIFE STARTS NOW. Pick up that package and create your own new you.
Cool Tool, Tip or Resource
When my health coach and physician first requested I get a WHOOP, I balked. I was totally being “too cool for school” as many of my fellow gym members had WHOOPs. Honestly, all the talk about their recovery scores and how well they fell asleep and WHOOP this and WHOOP that and “well my WHOOP said…” was on my nerves. So what sold me on giving it a try? My doctor appealed to my common sense when he said, “Well, Amy, you know you focus on what you track.” I couldn’t argue with that one. I got my WHOOP in the spring and have been blown away at how many patterns in my health I can now track AND adjust my habits to help my body perform optimally. Super helpful to quantify the effects of stress, interrupted sleep, hormonal shifts, hydration, over-working, surgical healing…the list goes on for days. Quickest and most surprising take home was this - when my recovery scores are in the red zone, I am more emotionally fragile and take care not to make any decisions or have any important conversations. How might your habits change if you tracked more data?
Here’s a special link to start with WHOOP for yourself. All Healthy Life Coaching and Therapy Services community members (that’s YOU!) will receive a free month when you sign up using the above link.
