Happy February!

 
The year of the Fire Horse is just beginning! Can you feel the shifting energies? Are you a follower of the Chinese zodiac? Plan your year by the moon and stars?? 
 
I don’t know about all that, but I will say I appreciate the excitement that the Chinese New Year brings to the lull of February. This month is historically a tough one for me -  the accumulation of sun-shortened days, outside-time-limiting cold temps, and the extra-effort-layering just to take out the trash really fire up my winter blues.

We focused in on LOVE this month with all our content creation and I am so glad we did. I took a good look at how to amp up my own self-care, loving myself right through the humdrum. What’s that really look like for me? 
 
~Lots of walks with Ginny on the beach, 
~a brand new planner (complete with stickers!!), 
~leaning into Fire Horse energy (even though I’m a water rat apparently…) and 
~a renewed gym schedule (a few more classes with sweet gym-mates)!

Calling all Book-Club-Beasts! 🌟

 Whether you've indicated that you'd like to be in a book club OR you've already participated in a book club - here's your personal invite!

Get ready to listen and talk with intention. We're diving deep into the practical skills shared in the book, "How to Talk so Kids will Listen and Listen so Kids will Talk".

Have you ever noticed that you formulate a response while people are talking? Is that response usually what they should do? Maybe how they should feel? Or not feel? Or what you'd like them to learn? Me, too. And have you ever noticed that conversations like that seem to end with a fizzling out or a rebuttal-advise-rebuttal pattern? Also, me, too!

This book club asks us to learn different ways of communicating - inviting spacious, curious listening and straight, kind talking to cultivate respectful, connected interactions. The focus is on how we use these new tools with kids...However, (spoiler alert!) these skills will transform conversations with EVERYONE in your life!
