Dear Friends,
I am so distracted today, thinking of the destruction and chaos left in Helene’s wake, particularly in my home state. It’s a special kind of heartbreak when something catastrophic happens. I want to know if they’re ok, how to help, what’s going on, what to send, and mostly, I want to know that “it’s all going to be ok”. And there’s some guilt. Over here 6 hours away, the weather is stunning. I am enjoying a truly glorious North Carolina day - blue skies, sun on my shoulders with a little breeze… Days like these almost seem to prove the existence of a Divine grace - what else could create this majesty?
It was not until this Monday morning that I realized I was at risk for dedicating my time, energy, and efforts on worry, self-pity, and fear. Hours of scrolling on socials today will likely not yield any tangible positive results - not save any lives, not clear any roads, not provide any comfort. Feeling sorry that I “can’t help” doesn’t empower me or create anything I am committed to creating in my life or in yours.
A little time journaling and a conversation with a friend from WNC helped me redirect my thoughts. Time to be selfishly unselfish.
I choose to LET GO of the things that I can not control. No more wringing hands or scrolling.
I choose to use my unique gifts to serve. I’m a coach and I’m physically capable. Here are my offerings:
